Fossil Sport, Week 1 Running Review

Hope you enjoy the video and find it helpful.

I ran with it all week and made a video on my Week 1 findings. We will see if this will be a great running watch or not!Let me know your thoughts and if you like the video, hit Like, and subscribe for more next week's findings!

Here's the link to the spreadsheet I created about the running data-

I had to return this watch....so disappointed. loved the look and feel. through watch was just ridiculously slow. it was almost comical how slow it was to do anything. GPS never stayed connected during my runs and music downloads were a huge, time-consuming pain. slow and cumbersome...browsing was just absurd on a watch and downloads rarely completed even after hours of syncing. I can't believe wear os is this bad.

I've been enjoying mine. Once I got it all set up, removed apps I didn't use, and got all the updates done, it proved to perform fine. The key was to get it updated, remove apps not used, and I choose to start the couple apps I use most upon a restart so they sit in the RAM. Battery lasts all day including workouts. Tip though..... If you can manage turn off the wrist rotate on feature to keep the screen from going on and off when it's not needed. A tap on the screen isn't a big deal to glance at the screen.

On my fossil gen4 explorist I found the tilt to wake gesture also drains battery pretty significantly. Not sure if its the gyroscope itself or illuminating the screen pixels... probably a combination of both. With the tilt-wake OFF I go from 6:30AM - 10:30 PM and still have about 60% battery left. With tilt-wake ON I end the day with ~20~25%.

My fave sport watch is the amazfit stratos. I have used it on 3 trail hikes so far, over 15 miles total. GPS, altimeter and field compass are great. Body metrics are also excellent, and I have no complaints about it as a daily bluetooth notifier connected to my phone.

My In-field review here:

Further impressions, modifications and customization. Overall positive... 29 miles and 3500 feet. drizzle rain and light snow conditions.
As a basic bluetooth notifier (about 10 notifications per day) and night time sleep tracker, this watch battery drains about 10% every 24 hours (best case scenario). I just charge it whenever the battery drops to around 25-30%.
