AC Question

Hey so I recently found an htc one phone, but i'm having trouble returning it. I can't access the contacts because the phone is asking for a PUK code and when I take the sim out it will be asking for the unlock code. Also I can't even contact the phones carrier because the phone is using one of those micro sim cards, so I don't know what carrier its using. So anything I can really do now?

Would there be any helpful info in recovery mode? I'm not saying try it, because I don't know, but perhaps you do.

Have you considered posting something on your local Craigslist in the Lost and Found section? Or some other equivalent site? Or maybe just handing the phone to the nearest establishment to where you found the phone (like a restaurant or a department store), or perhaps the local police station?

Yes, here we are all trying to think of techie phone solutions when any normal person would hand it in to the police, of whom the owner would be most likely to enquire!

I would have asked the same question as the OP (poster).
The owner has a much higher chance of getting the phone back directly from an honest and helpful finder. I found two phones in my time but was able to ring a contact and deliver it personally.
I would be wondering how to get the contacts. If there is a safe easy way to slide the sim out that would be a start, and possibly try another sim.
Also btw I am changing carrier this month and my current micro sim was cut from a standard sim so is too fat and I am worried about prising it out of my Note 3!
