FREE $20 Best Buy Gift Card from Android Pay

Interesting. I got a proximity notification today near a Best Buy pop up in the train station. It was encouraging me to burn the $20 card...

I couldn't get my Amex card to work on Walgreens readers, but I successfully bought a couple $1 burgers at MacDonalds yesterday. I got my rewards card in the app today, a little over 24 hours.

Out of the 4 cards I have...none will work with Android Pay........ :'(

Can't believe how limited all these NFC payment apps are..... Seems like the tap to pay world is all messed up with no standards and all the big players in the mobile industry are still fighting to come up with an acceptable standard that works with all banks and retailers.

Guess this means we are no further along with tap to pay than 3 years ago?

A couple years ago, both my Fidelity AmEx and Fidelity Visa worked with Google Wallet. So far with Android Pay, only the AmEx works, so I suspect it's taking a while to get all of the kinks worked out for all of the cards.

I tapped yesterday at my local grocery store for some Pringles. Haven't received the credit yet. How did you know you received it? You just checked the AP app and it was there or did you receive a notification?

very true and with target and walmart both trying to push their own app its even more messy. they need to stick to retail and making better prices. leave the payment apps to the mobile professionals.

Sure enough I have a $20 Best Buy card! It's got 12/16 as the date. I haven't used Android Pay in over a week.

AC App
Nexus 6

Noticed my gift card a few days ago. It just shows up. I use Android Pay alot, so have no idea which purchase made it appear or when it appeared. Just nice to see it.
