I suspect that it will have to do with where the magnet is when you are using the pen and how strong the magnet is. There have been complaints about magnets interfering with the positioning of the s-pen.

When I use the s-pen, I hold the phone like a book such that the cover is open and on the left side instead of folded to the back. And the closure strap is not directly to the back of the phone, just pushing it outward-right in case it tends to fold backwards.
It's not much to adjust to, IMO, because I'd rather have the cover securely closed and protect my screen.
But then, to some it may be a bother. There is an option of velcro too.

I think the magnets interference is mostly when the magnet is in the case side and not on the cover which moves when you open it.
