So I finally received them yesterday after submitting on 11/5, was eager to try them from the buildup on this thread. While I was waiting, I bought and tried the following buds:
Westone W30 $399
1more Triple Driver $89
1more Piston Classic $18
Shure SE215m $119
Also tried friend's custom UE 18Pro at $1200+ but won't comment on them since it was too short of a session to form an opinion.
First of all, I am surprised at how little bass there are in these so called IEMs. And I'm not the type that likes bass that much. Second, there isn't a big sound quality delta between $18 and $400 ones, probably due to size and weight constraint that these require. It's like asking a speaker engineer to design a system with deep bass with single 5" woofer in a 12"x8"x8" box.
That being said the B&O has the most bass out of the ones I've tried, equal to the Pistons. The vocals and mids are clear but sound distant, so the impression is that volume is low. The Shures by comparison has slightly less bass but much stronger vocals. Additional drivers that Triple and W30 adds better separation and clarity to certain sections of music of certain types, but can't justify the cost as in W30s.
So the B&O are certainly better than the free buds that come with most phones, but I would rate them worst overall in the group. I will likely keep the Shure due to combination of comfort and sound and return or sell the rest.
