Free wireless tethering with unrooted 2.2???

If I use the HTC wireless tethering widget, will I get charged like if I use the Sprint version??? Or this a form of free tethering?

From what I have found it will not work. You can load it and start the program but it will give you a fail error of "User name and password not recognized"
So the program will run and be available but you will have no access to the network.
Download PDANET. Its free and you can usb tether without any issues.
As far as wireless you are SOL unless you have root.
