Why does my samsung galaxy note 5 fail to respond to my finger touch?

I get a phone call, but am unable to answer for wen I touch screen, nothing happens. Caller gives up and hangs us.

Welcome to Android Central! Is it only when someone calls? Does the screen respond to your touch afterwards? Are you swiping the phone icon to answer, or just tapping it? You typically have to drag the phone icon to the right to answer the call.
