my problem is similar as shown in the videos, Do anyone know the Fix for it.

Freezing is justified.... closing down newly opened apps as well.... Problem is no page file such as Windows Operating System utilizes.... Its time for google to write one with their OS.... they're page filing apps on Google market.... research this topic
First...... Most of these page filing apps ask for a clean sd card.... a soley dedicated sd card fir page filing..... I run a minimum of 100 apps from a booting start up.... apps close and crash..... slugginess and freezing is from running too much..... if using an sd card as page filing, make sure it is a class 10, where phon we will write 10 megs a second. ..... however, . reads much faster than this 10.... thank gawd, american variants has 2 megs of RAM..... yet, still insufficient..... remember page file, virtual memory

I had the same problem with my S3 freezing and turning itself off.
I found that if I turned off all LED notifications in the Display settings my S3 was back to normal, okay you lose visual flashing notification but you still have sound and notification in the display panel.
Until Samsung supply a fix I can live with this set up.

newbie here so pardon me. Does factory reset wipe out your Contacts, pictures and other personal files? My S3 freezes a few times a day, frustrating when u are waiting for a call! :'(

Can you please help me. My phone works with everything, but now the gallery isn't working. It will let me view every album besides the captured album. Please help!

I had this same freezing start a couple weeks ago- for some reason my evernote app wanted to keep authenticating and i coundnt log in. i uninstalled it.
I also uninstalled look out scanner app , which was seeming to hijack everything.
I made sure at least 700 mb are free on the phone, also removed some crappy freeware apps with ads and everything is top shape again.
if you have a similar situation- try it out. totally fixed my issues.
:)

I also have an S3 from US Cellular... they have replaced it already... the last four weeks I have been in for them to 'do work on it'... last week the tech told me this is a known problem with the phone and there is nothing they can do about it.. its a crap shoot as to when it will happen to the phone. Once it starts you can't fix it.. I've done everything from have them work on it to doing a factory reset.. its reboots itself at least once a day.... I drop calls all the time (which I have never had an issue with before).. basically their answer to fix this "buy a new phone".... I've had this phone about 9 months... I dont think I should have to buy a new phone... I think they should replace it at their cost... Very disappointed in the phone..

Try these steps.
1. Go to settings
2. Open Application Manager
3. Swipe to all applications
4. Scroll down, and look for Touch Wiz, then open it.
5. Tap on Clear Data.

Worked for me.

I have had my S3 for close to a year now, really has never given me any problems what so ever. Only till last week or so, it suddenly started to freeze.. 1st i thought must be a program i must have installed, etc.. And i was on 4.1.2 for quite a few months, without any problems again, but everytime it freezed, i had to remove the bat off to get it restarted.. I did a factory reset, didnt work! i formatted the external mem card, didnt work! so on................ as most of you have done! My work needs my phone, for emergency calls! So last couple of days, i had just switched the mobile data off.. AND FOR MY SURPRISE THE PHONE HAS NOT FREEZED THE WHOLE DAY! Immediately i connected to a wifi or mobile data..few min browsing it freezes! So... i dont know how true this will be for most of you.. Dont know exacly what the problem is, but it works well as a phone without the net so far.. :( i might as well have a noka 3310!!!

I found out what the problems were.

You need to go to "Settings"---->Application Manager------>All
Then go to the very last on the bottom "Download Manager" and turn it "ON"
So that it can update your applications.

Then it will update your applications and this will fix a lot of compatibilities with your Operating System.

This helped mine greatly and I hope it helps yours also!

Hi

i have the same problem as yours, samsung s3 and i bought it on august, 2012

it keeps freezing every-time i turn on the phone and it wont work, i tried to clear data, delete some apps, and removing the battery.
could you tell me what happen next or how did you fix it completely?

Rudynomai,
It's time for a Factory Reset.
Be sure to sync your contacts and backup any data that you care about (call logs, SMS/MMS, etc) before doing the Factory Reset.

Okay, this is going to be kind of lengthy but stay with me.. I have the GS3, with the Next Launcher (Paid) on it. Usually on Facebook they have updates and Betas you can get to test out the new version that will be coming out, so I decided to get one of the new betas. I downloaded it, than it asked me which program to use to finish the installation, I don't remember the name of the one I picked but after I pressed it, the screen went black and all I could see was my notification bar at the top.. It stayed like that for awhile and I couldn't do anything, so I decided to take out the battery and restart it. Well.. After turning it back on, it stopped after the start up where the SAMSUNG logo pops up and it has the blue ray going in and out of the logo, it didn't freeze really, it just stayed at that point. I left the phone on to see if it would eventually start up later but it never did.. I soon started to look on the internet ways to undo freezes on the start up, I didn't know how else to word it. I soon began doing pretty much everything that I could do. I know probably resetting it back to factory settings will most likely fix the problem, but I don't want to have to do that unless that is the only thing I can do.. If anyone has any suggestions, that would be appreciated... OH! And if this helps... My phone is from Sprint, and I got it at BestBuy, which is where I hope to go take it back to see if anyone there knows what the problem is.

if u have the xxella baseband version try downloading the xxemc2 on your pc and update it. its an official update that should fix the bug causing the problem

I have same problem [samsung galaxy s3], but i delete all stuff from gallery, before i did that i put on my pc and all day is ok, no freezing. I'm on 4.1.2 root jelly bean..

Thank you!, you are a genius.
I've had this problem since 2 weeks and it has been very frustrating. I've tried everything. And there is no any app problem, you do not have to do a factory reset. The problem is LED notification. When you do a factory reset, or switch data off, or uninstall some apps, the phone works for a while just because you have less notifications. I turned off LED notifications an the problem's gone. Thanks. TURN OFF LED NOTIFICATIONS!!! (sorry about my English).

I had the same problem with my S3 freezing and turning itself off.
I found that if I turned off all LED notifications in the Display settings my S3 was back to normal, okay you lose visual flashing notification but you still have sound and notification in the display panel.
Until Samsung supply a fix I can live with this set up.

Hi my phone started freezing every couple of days two weeks ago problem I have is three months ago I dropped the phone cracked outer screen doses anyone know if it would be still covers by the warranty

Ok. I've been reading everywhere trying to find a solution. I'm getting to the point of think it is a Hardware issue.

I'm 1 1yr 1 month owner of a Gal S3 (I've notice a lot of issue put up at the 13 month mark, anyone superstitious?). In the last two weeks I've had an issue of it turning off at random. I though this may have been as a result of the power button getting pushed down while resting in the car. However this issue stated happening while in my pocket no button push issue.

The last two days the phone has began to Freeze. The Battery discharge graph just shows blank for the period and then it when it unfreezes after a period of 15 -20 minutes it shows a significant power drop. I've heard from others that doing this once has solved the issue but mine keeps happening. I think the issue shower up after a Samsung Update where a number of the services were automatically updated overnight. It became an major issue when the alarm didn't go off for work three days in a row alarm time must have been during a freeze period my only alarm clock.

As It was time for a phone clean out I decided to do a factory reset. Upon doing so all the base apps were installed and Google play was launched to get the updates for these apps. While downloading/installing phone froze. I did a hard reset. went back in installed a couple more apps before phone froze. SD card in or out didn't stop the phone freezing. Installed Lookout Security, it was running it's scan over previously installed apps and froze part way through it. After a short freeze it began working only to reset and then freeze on the start up Samsung screen.

This all happened over a period of about 1 hour.

I have tried clearing Cache's (not that there was anything in them), I reset app preferences, I ensured that all apps were running and not disabled.

Is there something I haven't tried.

I'm running Android 4.1.2
