From Alcatel Idol 3 (5.5) to what?

Hi Jerry
I know you were a big fan of the Idol 3, I like mine despite the bit of lag, particularly how good the outdoor visibility is. However, in the uk we seem to be stuck on lollipop.
I've been searching for a MM/Nougat replacement, some reviews mention outdoor visibility, some don't and I'm not sure what to do next. I'm thinking 5.5 inch, excellent outdoor visibility, not bothered about fingerprint sensor but if it has prefer it on the front, good battery life, approx £450. Appreciate your advice on what to look at. cheers, alex

Huawei P9.

The software on it is intimidating and weird. But if you can get used to it, the phone is really well built and the screen is good outdoors. Best part is the £400 price tag.

thanks Jerry, I'll take a good look at it.
Noticed the P10 is coming soon, with a front fingerprint sensor, so may hang on to see what it looks like.

So the P10 has arrived and it looks perfect for me, until...the news it doesn't have oleophobic coating!!!
Would a tempered glass screen protector fix this? And still leave the fingerprint sensor working?
