I'm not a big fan of Samsung. What am I looking at if I finally bite the bullet and get an iPhone, which I have never had. I would imagine it would take a lot of work because all my apps would be different, right? What about all my contacts on Google contacts?

My fingerprint screen doesn't work too well. I have another 10 months in my battery wears down pretty quickly. However, I like the phone and I despise Apple for income tax inversion.

Where is that Microsoft phone when we need it?

Hopefully by the time I need to replace my V60, Asus will have got their hind end in gear and have a Verizon compatible ROG phone. Those are the only ones that have interested me outside the LG V-series phones, but Asus keeps making the idiotic decision to release half obsolete/incompatible phones in the U.S. market.

Not interested in the Pixel 6? Looks like it might be a heck of a phone, but of course we won't know for sure until it officially launches.

Zenfone 8 looks pretty good on paper: https://www.asus.com/us/Mobile/Phones/ZenFone/Zenfone-8/
Most phones nowadays seem to be cookie cutter designs, and trying to out-Apple Apple. I don't care for all the AI stuff either. That's part of why I loved LG so much, but even they started going cookie cutter after the V20.

Pixel 6 certainly seems to be a somewhat radical departure from the the previous cookie cutters, don't you think?

To be honest, I haven't looked because Google doesn't seem to be a company to do phone design "radically." I didn't even know they had a 6th one coming out already.

If you really like your V40 then find a V60. I went from a V40 to V60 and am very happy with it.
