Front camera zoom issue , are they serious? returning

So i waited a while to upgrade from an s7 edge and i go buy the s10 5g and youre unable to use video chat with the front camera because of the zoom issue? snapchat? ig? google duo? all terrible and zoomed in? Crazy how after over 2 months theres no fix
guess i have to return the phone and go back to the s7 or iphone

Care to explain that a bit more? (Also, the 5G version hasn't been out for 2 months). I have the S10+ and have used an S10 and S10e with videochat on Whatsapp, Skype, FB Messenger, and Snapchat without issues (granted, I haven't tried the 5G version).

I had noticed that snapchat was way too zoomed in and you're right about Duo as well. Super annoying. I. Have a Galaxy S10 Plus and have the same issue. Not sure what would be causing this.

It's not really Samsung's fault though. It's the way Snapchat and the other apps use the camera. They use the resolution of the entire display, not the camera. They need to update their apps so that it uses the camera properly. Newer iPhones are having the issue as well.

theres no way if you own a s10+ your not zoomed in more then you should be using these apps, maybe you dont notice because you dont have another phone to compare it? its awful, all these apps basically zoom in on you face as it uses the wrong camera res on the s10

i understand this but the s10 has been out a while now and still no fix even though it should be simple fix
i think all the newer iphones are fine now
id love to keep the phone but the fact you cant video chat is silly, and im having a hard time bringing down the notification bar at the top to read my notifications with just my 1 thumb 1 handed which is annoying (but the video chat thing is way more annoying)

I have s10+ SD855 on tmobile and dont see this happening on WhatsApp or Google duo. What's your version?

I use Google duo lots with family didn't see this , you have option to see yourself full and put the others in small box or other way around if that's what you mean?

It's much more zoomed in than the regular camera. If you compare the two you'll see what we mean.

I wouldn't think it would be different on a Tmobile device but who knows.

If you say it's a bug on video calling, then you should be able to take a picture with the stock camera app and compare to the image on the video chat. Do those differ? On mine they don't (which is why I don't see the issue you're describing); and if the stock camera matches the video chat, then comparing to another phone is moot because then it's not using 'the wrong resolution', that's just how the lens/image size on the S10 is...

I have video calls almost every day (mostly through Messenger and Whatsapp) and haven't noticed any super-zoomed in images or having people complain they can't see me fully or something.

There's a setting you can enable to swipe down anywhere on the display to bring down the quick menu and notifications.
