I have a quick question about the upcoming froyo update that may or may not happen. When Android updates OTA, will I lose my information and apps? If so, is there anyway to backup that information?

Thanks

.. so in other words if you dont root and make a backup that way ,, you will loss apps and setting configuration ? I know that you won't have to pay for them again just maybe have to reinstall them ?As far as contacts go just sync back with google.

Don't hold me to this...but I think the official OTA will simply flash over 2.1 without losing your contacts, data or settings.

I don't think Verizon, HTC or Google is ready for that crap storm.

But if you do feel better about backing up...Backup Pro is on the market.

OTA updates will not wipe your data so you will not lose any of your applications, setting, or data.

But being rooted and being able to back up your apps and data with titanium and being able to backup Roms in ROM manager is priceless ;)
