Froyo Calender--- no new events!

I cannot add new events in my calender. I press the time of the day, the menu opens, I type what the event is, hit save, and the box shows up on the calender for a half second and disappears.

Help. I use my calender for my schedule and it does not work. I turned off the phone, yanked out the battery and restarted and it still does not work.

Anyone else have this problem?

I just tried to add a new event and see. It added the event and I then waited until it synced with my gmail account. No problems at all. It is now on my gmail account and in my phone, just like before the update.

I lost my whole calendar - it said it was syncing, but nothing ever showed on the google cloud calendar. I have hundreds of appointments, individual & recurring and 5 calendars for work, so it was disaster.

Ultimately I had to reset the phone to remove and replace my gmail account. The calendar and contacts were fine, but what a PITA to put all my stuff back in.

NYTimes is awol, but I finally found an apk to get it back, so things are somewhat back to normal.

It was a lot of drama to go through for impatience, but I also suppose that the OTA might have messed it up the same.

I reset my calendar cache to deal with that issue.
