I saw this link posted and yet I am not really sure how true it is ,with all the rumors I guess the only sure way to know is when you see that 2.2 is an available update on your DX but anyhoo this is what I saw , Bogus maybe .With All the incredible rumors yesterday I am not that excited YET since it may be just that bogus

LOL! I think two examples of why I'm frustrated are 1) the rumors about Froyo hitting Droid Incredibles yesterday; and 2) the rumor about HTC releasing an Android tablet this fall. The former didn't come to fruition, and the latter has, subsequently, been confirmed to be totally fabricated.

I'll just enjoy my X running 2.1 until I see word from credible sources that an update is coming. Even then, it's sort of like "wake me when it's over."

I'd like to find out how the leak performs (I imagine well, we're only a couple weeks from OTA) and if we'll still be able to get the OTA. And then with good answers to those questions I'll totally get me some delicious frozen yogurt dessert!

The good thing is that there's nandroid backups now so if I use it and don't like it, I'll just load the backup that I created this morning.

yea, was wondering about this as well. i'm pretty sure you can get the leak and then once the OTA is available, it will load...can someone confirm?

Not really a way to confirm this as of yet since it hasn't even been leaked out yet but even IF you're not able to get OTA after using the leak, you can always flash back to stock 2.1 with the .SBF.

What do you want to know? You can backup your entire system using Koush's Droid X Bootstrapper Recovery Tool.

So, being new to the android universe (the X is my first), but being a tinkerer at heart, I have a few questions:
1) I put the NexTheme on my droid (which is awesome btw), will I have to remove the theme to get OTA updates, or flash the leaked ROM?
2) I overclocked/undervolted by the method in this forum. Will these mess up any update?
3) I can't live without root... will I lose my root if I upgrade to the leaked 2.2?

Any help would be greatly helpful!

1) To flash the leaked 2.2 build, yes. To receive OTA updates, most likely.
2) Not too sure of this. I doubt it'll affect an update, it'll just revert to stock settings I belive.
3) You will most likely lose root and it's unclear how easy it is to re-root 2.2 but it CAN be done.

Keep in mind that everything is speculation right meow so any of this still remains to be seen.
