If it doesn't happen this week then Im just going to bite the bullet and root this weekend. Of course as soon as I do that they'll release it the next friggin day! :/

But can't you just unroot your phone??

I am also on the edge of rooting.....I keep going back and forth, should I root or wait. I didn't expect to see Froyo today but I still have hope that it will be out soon. Hopefully if it does roll out to a select few today we will see an update.zip come our way to manually upgrade.

If it happens today only a small group will get it. It probably wont start until tonight if it happens at all today.

My guess we won't see this for weeks.

Yeah I could just unroot it, but it seems like a bunch of hassle rooting, then unrooting when 2.2 comes out, and then possibly rooting again.

Ive been debating on rooting for quite some time so I can have the benefits that others do with rooted phones, such as overclocking and what not. I don't mind my unrooted phone, it works fine and does what I need it to do. with 2.2 supposed to have so much cool stuff I've been putting it off to stay stock but that's looking more and more unlikely now.

but if they do release it the next day, you'll be rooted, running froyo and won't care about verizon's update schedule.
