Not happening at all on any of the phones I've RUU'd. I would suggest doing a factory wipe on that phone and resetup and see if it clears up.

Okay, here are the things that I have found so far. Granted, it has only been on my phone for about 30 minutes, and I'm still getting situated with it.

1. The Droid Eye and Voice does come on when you turn your phone on

2. We got 720p HD Video Recording

3. We also got a camcorder light as well!

4. Froyo comes installed with a flashlight app from HTC that works great and has 3 intensities!

5. Comes with Flash 10.1 as well as a new Amazon MP3 App

6. Something about the Pattern Lock is visually different, but I can't tell exactly what it is lol. I need a stock 2.1 Inc to be able to say.

7. Google Navigation works perfectly, without having to purchase the stupid Verizon Navigation Plan.

8. On Google maps, the call button works again, for when you want to call a location.

9. To use 3g mobile hotspot, you do need to have it activated with Verizon first. I know that's lame. :/

10. For pattern lock to engage, you can actually set, how many minutes after you manually put your phone to sleep, it will take for it to actually lock. It can be instant, 3 min, 5 min, etc...

11. Media Player has some visual enhancements.

12. The keyboard has some keys in different spots now.

Other than that, just some basic observations:

The phone feels much faster. The browser is definitely quicker. Video looks really nice! Over all, great improvement on an already incredible device!

The flashlight app, does it utilize the LED flash?

Is there any way we can turn off the "Droid" voice on bootup?

thanks for sharing!

The flashlight app does use the LED flash.

You can change your bootup if you want, just do a search and you will find some instructions.

thanks mclarryjr

I currently have the Droid X bootup screen but i'm not sure if i want the audio...once i get the OTA then i'll decide what to do :)

well i gave it through the weekend to update ota. no go, so i'm doing the manual install as i type this...

Add another person that did the RUU manually. Seems as good as before, bit faster in other areas. I nothice when using the optical pad to switch panels it seems much smoother now, more fluid.

I've been running the ruu since Thursday and have really noticed a speed increase all over. Prior I was running the 8/1 leak, which I can now tell was not finished. This update rocks.

FWIW I did not lose any apps or data when I updated. Maybe it was because my radio did not need upgrading.

Glad to hear of some people taking the plunge and getting it over with. You obviously aren't regretting it. I would much prefer hearing people saying the heck with it and doing this, than sitting in the forums complaining because a 2 day old update hasn't reached their phone yet....welcome to Froyo guys! Been using it for awhile now and the latest official and the latest ROM built off it are indeed something fluid, fast, and responsive!

OK, just updated via the RUU. First I rooted with unrevoked3, then did unrevoked forever then flashed the RUU, but now I no longer have root. I tried re running the Unrevoked3 but I keep getting "failed to flash recovery image." Any ideas?

I installed RUU. First thing I noticed, all my home screens were blank. I am organizing now.

I also noticed I can get to Zynga Poker on Facebook. I can't play yet but I can get to the main screen

You had to use a special zip file that was extracted from the RUU. The directions are all over the XDA forums. I used their instructions and it worked perfectly. I have the best of both worlds. I have Root and stock 2.2

mine weren't blank, but they were defaulted back to factory state. the home screen had the email, messaging and internet icons, and the other screens had various htc widgets running

So the general consensus is that the RUU is route to go if you have the not gotten the OTA?

Im fine with using the RUU just dont want to run into the issue that the EVO folks ran into.

I installed the RUU leak on 8/26, here are a couple of my findings:

1. My battery life is much better. I'm running the extended battery (2150mAh) and at 50% I'm have 24 hours UP and 6 hours AWAKE. Previously with those same numbers I would have only 10-20% left.
2. Flash: I find that it doesn't really work like I think it should. I installed the Adobe Showcase app and the sites play Flash terribly on my phone.
3. I still have to bump charge my battery.
4. The bump to 720 on the camcorder was nice. They removed the Framerate from the Details menu so I can't tell what the framerate is, but it seems to be better than before.
5. Everything else seems to be working normally. There are some tweaks here and there, but nothing that is going to blow you away. As far as the JIT update, my benchmark scores went way up (above the Droid X) but for day to day use, I haven't noticed anything different. The phone doesn't feel any less or more responsive that before 2.2.

Maybe somebody can help me. I unrooted my phone in anticipation of the OTA Froyo. It has been 3 days and I still haven't received the 2.1 update that came back in May. So my phone is actually running the first original 2.1 ROM that was shipped with the Incredible in April. Does this mean that I wont get the 2.2? Is my phone somehow off Verizons update radar?

To make things worse, The RUU does not recognize my phone probably because HTC sync on Windows 7 doesn't recognize it.

Please help this n00b in need.
