So do I need to backup my DInc before the update? Or is everything seamlessly transferred with the update?

Some are reporting that it was seamless while others are reporting that they had to reload everything. To be safe you should backup and maybe even make a lit of all of your apps.

I just did the manual install. Went fine.
It does take quite a while for the final reboot.
