When swiping up to get to the recent apps screen you are also presented with suggested apps. That list is curated HORRIBLY! It's like the phone doesn't even know what apps I'm using. On mine I have 3 apps I've opened ONCE, one app I use a couple times a day and one app that's a duplicate of one of the first 3 (because I have a work profile so it gives me the personal and work profile versions).

I'd LOVE for this to return to what it used to be - apps that I open and use but are not on my home screen.

For example. I went for a walk last night. After my headphones connected to my phone I noticed that I did have a different app in there - GOOGLE PLAY MUSIC, which I haven't used in TWO MONTHS! I'm using Plex now. Another example - at least every other day I search for and open the Podcasts app, but do you think it shows up in that list of suggested apps? NOPE!

This space is a HUGE step back from what it used to be...

Not that it matters - I'm using a Pixel 2XL.

Have you tried turning it off? I can only assume at the moment since I do not have A11 yet that, like in A10, this can be turned off.

Pull up the recent list>upper right corner 3 dot menu open Settings>untick the Suggested apps toggle.

Unless you want suggestions, just better ones...?

Same way on my pixel 4xl , got be a bug .

I'd have to agree to a point. I don't think it's a bug per sa more of an AI issue and yeah there's nothing we can do the make the AI smarter or work better, or is there? I thought it was supposed to learn and that was how the suggestions were made, so perhaps it will learn as you go along and for whatever reason the update wiped what it had learned prior. They could have also "upgraded" the AI, I mean why wouldn't they in a new version of Android, and it was a case of, if it ain't broke..., and well they tried to fix it anyway.

If this is a feature that you want, I'd say give it some time. It may just have to learn all over again.

It wasn't like that before Android 11 , I personally don't care for recent apps that was used just more validation it is a issue.
