Full bars and horrible speed....speed test anyone

This is my best number so far. I typically get between 1 and 2 meg speeds though...

This was on my way home from work early in the am

All time best just now, spoke too soon in the last post.

Well since said tower issues are on deck for me I drove into the city to see if things were any better and from the looks of it...hell to the NO

I will repeat what I mentioned earlier.

First post: If you consistently have speeds under 150Kb/s, even late at night, contact Sprint and have them "reprovision" you and update your data profile.

Second post: My advice was to contact Sprint if your speed is consistently under 150Kb/s (which it appears yours is) because your phone could be stuck in 2G mode (happened to me) and they CAN fix that.

Complaining on the forum is not going to change anything...

Buddy I'm not complaining....and I did contact sprint if you read what I said earlier...they claimed the tower I was near was having issues....so I did a test elsewhere and had same results and this was after reprovisioning my phone...I don't look at it as complaining I look at is asking a question to see if others are having the same exp.

Another thing to try when using the speedtest.net app is to go into settings and try other servers in your area.
I found a few times that the server closest to me sometimes gave me slower results.
Im in Dallas, and i now use a server in Fort Worth to test. I get better overall results from that server.

Sorry, I must have missed or overlooked where you had contacted Sprint and they reprovisioned it. I know this has solved a VERY similar problem with my last phone and a few people I know had similar issues that were resolved with finally reaching a good tech at Sprint.

Also, it is actually important that you seek out other Sprint users in your immediate area and test/compare.

Oh my wife has a evo as well as friends and family...I've just come to conclusion that my area is on the down slope at the moment

Well, although I didn't help the OP much, I am glad it helped YOU :) It appears to be a fairly common problem with some phones getting stuck in 2G-only mode and even though the display says "3G", it is a lie.

Ok I did a test today and I actually got 1 MB......wooooooo

I'm also contemplating doing the prl mod....allowing me to access Verizon towers and get faster 3g speeds

I went to sprint store where my speeds are very slow and tested EVO against galaxy nexus they had on display ... EVO was pulling 150 kbps and nexus showed 99 kbps...so its not the phone imo...its the network....I was in San Francisco today and I was getting around 1mbps speeds
