Full charge before using the first time?

I always unbox mine, plug it in, and then get to activating it and setting everything up while it charges to 100%.

This, for no other reason than once it is finished with the initial setup I will probably not let it go until the battery starts to run down below 10%.

Yep. Not much you can do with the phone while it sets itself up, so just start the setup, plug it in and forget it for a while. Then, your phone's setup and charged.
 
I always charge my new devices to 100% before unplugging them. Scientifically I don't think its 100% necessary like it was with previous types of batteries but I still do it for piece of mind and I figure it can't hurt anything. From what I understand the worst thing you can do to your battery is let it drain to zero...I've only heard this by word of mouth...any truth to this?
