I was thinking about getting the Thunderbolt yesterday so I went to the nearest Best Buy and was talking the salesman and using his Thunderbolt demo unit. I asked him if he would honor the Verizon website price of $199.99. He said he couldn't and his manager wouldn't either. Disappointed, I went home and called a Best Buy a little further from my house and got a verbal agreement from the manager there that he would sell it to me for that price $199.99. I then called a Verizon Zoom place near my house and he said he would have to check with his manager but when asked if he would also include my NE2 of $30 he said they would not be able to give me both. I call BS on that but I would prefer to get it from Best Buy anyway because I like there insurance plan better and there trade in policy. I liked the Thunderbolt a lot but thought it was heavy. Great feel to it though and the screen was nice. It is basically like my DINC but with a larger screen. Anyway, after reading all the reports about the battery is making me think twice about this phone. I can not believe they only put a 1400 mAh in it.
Makes you feel like they do it to increase battery sales.

I couldnt get them to price match it. However I had returned an iphone that I had gotten in the free buy back period and the guy let me keep the free buy back with the T-Bolt :) Which i am pretty much 100% certain he was not supposed to do lol. However I got a faulty unit (it has some pretty bad screen/light leakage) so I am about to bring it back rite now and exchange it, I am worried I am going to get a dick there who wont add the free buy back for the exchange lol *fingers crossed*

We could not get BB to price match to save our souls, but Verizon did AND gave hubby his $30 NE2.

Did you go to the Verizon corporate store or the franchise store (which are called zoom)

I am assuming it was a corporate store, but we are on vacation and to be honest we went to the first Verizon our navigation pointed us to. We did have to pull it up on line to get them to believe the 199 price. Then the sales guy had to get the manager to do a triple take at the 169 price with my hubby's ne2. To get it to go through the system they gave me $50 ne2 and then an $80 ne2 for my husband.

So you used both NE2 for one phone? If so they really didn't come down to the on line price but just used you NE2 to get there.

No, hubby had a ne2 for 30 bucks since he is primary line. I have no ne2 because I am not primary. We showed them his upgrade price on line as 169 which was 199 minus the 30 dollar ne2. So, to get my phone down to 199 they "created" a fake $50 ne2 for me. And to get hubby down to 199 plus his 30 dollar ne2 they gave him a 80 dollar ne2. So, his phone 169, mine 199. Clear as mud?

I wish my Verizon stores were as helpful... I am due NE2 on 4/16. I get $50 off for corporate discount. I want a 1 yr contract.

They wouldn't budge and said that I couldn't early upgrade at 1yr due to corporate account discount. I called BS, they said sorry. i walked away before I said something in appropriate. LAME>....

CS reps are soo hit or miss. I am going to call and see what I can do, or maybe try my local store I have delt with in the past.

The guy I dealt with was great. However, I must say I pulled the female card and told him that I had been waiting for this phone since November and that I might cry if I could not get it that very day! ;)

I think we might see a lot of men in drag at the Verizon stores in Kansas crying for a better deal on this phone.

I got my best buy to price match amazons low price of 180. All I had to do is bring in the online print out and buy the black tie protection.

Sent from my TBolt

I brought that in also but they said they only price match competitors in the local area. They also said they have an exclusive to sell the Thunderbolt and they cant under sell what Verizon is asking which was $249. I guess it just depends what store is willing to do for you. My store wouldn't even honor the $199 on Verizon for on line purchase.
