FYI, KitKat update kills Foxfi (apparently) on the Verizon HTC One

installed it and it appears to be working. I only have 1x service at this time when I get to 4G I will see. With the M7 you have to enable to the hotspot as an extra step. It doesn't bring up the call to subscribe screen too

Chris

Now that FoxFi was updated I finally updated to KitKat and FoxFi is working - and thanks to those who responded above. On the M7 I do get that additional step to enable the mobile hotspot...not a big deal at all, although (as it notes on the FoxFi app in the Google Play store) a couple of times I've gotten the message that I need to subscribe to the mobile hotspot service. I've just hit "Cancel" and then re-tried to enable it and it then worked.

I've not been able to do away with the lock, but you can set it to a pattern lock. But the speed seems to be slower than it used to be.

It looks like my hotspot drops whenever the screen times out. Anyone else seeing this?

Update...it's not the screen timeout..it just seems to drop after about 10 minutes.
Update 2...rebooted phone, renamed hotspot....hotspot still drops...exactly 10 minutes after starting.

They have a data limit for the free version, could it be that or is it 10 mins ever time?

Alright just to let everyone know and please spread the word I upgraded my phone through Verizon and kept my unlimited data... You have 14 days from upgrading to call Verizon and ask to be grandfathered into your unlimited plan again... I had to call 7-8 times over those 14 days and talked to numerous people (write down every name and what they said) I talked to a lady that said she was going to fill out the "application" to be grandfathered in. The day after I called and they said I was declined, I told them I have a friend that got grandfathered in and I want to speak with someone else and finally I had someone say " ok Iwill change you back to unlimited but the system might reject it at the end of the month" <- total Bull**** I have unlimited data with my htc one. Please spread the word and let me know if pdanet finds a way past kit Kat 4.4.2 so I can use it as a hotspot again

I can't seem to get by the "call to subscribe" message. I hit cancel and that turns off "mobile hotspot." I turn it back on and the same thing happens. Did it 4 times and gave up. Foxfi 2.17.2 on 4.4.3. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Did you try rebooting, I've had to hit cancel and turn on several times before it takes, sometimes it won't take and a reboot seems to fix it.
