G+ Hangout not recognizing front facing camera on CM7

I updated my Google+ app yesterday to try out the new features. Specifically, I wanted to try the Hangout feature from my phone. But it says it requires a front facing camera (which I obviously have). Is this a result from me running a custom ROM (CM7 RC1.7)?

Has anyone else had this issue on other ROMS? Here is a screenshot I put on Google+ yesterday. https://plus.google.com/104211583223016302952/posts/4vV9PdYTdY2

I wanted to try this last night to see how it worked on cm7, bummer if this is the case.

Yep. I even have the MIUI cam on CM7, which does recognize the front camera, but still no dice on Google+.

Yeah, my front camera works great in my camera app and even Skype. Just no luck with G+. Maybe it is an issue that Google can fix with an update instead of requiring a CM7 update.

With the latest version of CM 7, it appears that I was given the option now to join a hangout. I didn't do any tweaks or anything.

I'm not rooted and don't wish to do so. Is there a way to accomplish this for us amateurs?

If you aren't rooted, the front camera and Hangouts should work just fine.
