G2: Good, Bad and Ugly

they pay little attention (as most average consumers do) to the specs so they don't even know that an iPhone doesn't have a microSD slot.

+1

Most people have no idea what's "in" their phone other than whatever was in an ad, or on the card next to it or what the sales person lied to them about.

That wasn't his example. He wasn't saying iPhone owners expected microSD, he was saying that they pay little attention (as most average consumers do) to the specs so they don't even know that an iPhone doesn't have a microSD slot.

My response was for WickedRabbit's post, where he/she said "occassionally when they do fill up that 8 or 16gb iPhone they ask for a memory card to expand it." Are some consumers ignorant? Yes, some definitely do not know what's in their phone. However, some know what a memory card is, and (based on WickedRabbit's comment) some feel that their iPhone should support it, even though no iPhone so far ever did.

This goes back to my point about people preferring Android because it offers choice. If we're talking about the LG G2, you can get memory card support if you're in South Korea. I think it would be a good idea to just offer the South Korean variant in more places. I think most people would agree that choice is good.

If they're going to ask for a memory card for their iPhone, it isn't because they 'feel that their iPhone should support it'. Its because they don't honestly know their phone doesn't have a memory card slot.
