hello.

I have the g2x. rooted on 2.2.2

I decided to do this---
Method via Recovery

Download the latest version of CyanogenMod.

Optional: Download the Google Apps for the device.

Place the CyanogenMod update.zip file on the root of the SD card.

Optional: Place the Google Apps .zip on the root of the SD card also.

Boot into the ClockworkMod Recovery.
Once the device boots into the ClockworkMod Recovery, use the side volume buttons to move around, and either the power button or the trackball to select.

Optional: Select backup and restore to create a backup of current installation on the LG G2x.

Select the option to Wipe data/factory reset.
Then select the option to Wipe cache partition.
Select Install zip from sdcard.
Select Choose zip from sdcard.
Select the CyanogenMod update.zip.

Optional: Install the Google Apps by performing steps 7 - 9 again and choosing the Google Apps update.zip.

Once the installation has finished, select +++++Go Back+++++ to get back to the main menu, and select the Reboot system now option. The LG G2x should now boot into CyanogenMod.

AFTER step 10 I get stuck in a boot loop. I am unable to reopen the recovery boot menu. I am really stuck w/o my phone....
Instead of a recovery window a box and android pops ups for a minute or two before the boot loop starts again.....
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Are holding the Power button and Volume Down button for the entire reboot? Pull the battery out and put it back to stop the boot loop. Then you should hold both buttons till it boot into CWM.

so removing thr battery is going to fix the boot loop? when exactly should i remove the battery? this does not seem credible to me. Hopefully i am wrong.

can you be more specific about exactly what to do?

is the phone plugged in to pc?
which 2 buttons?
when exactly remove restore battery,,,?

thanks.

Wait were you using Rom Manager? If so that is the problem. You should flash CWM using your PC. Instructions here--> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054492 Once flashed you can get into CWM and wipe the phone and try again. Rom Manager does a false flash of CWM which can only be uses while the phone is up and running. Rom Manager is not recommended for the G2x.
