G3 dies as if the battery runs out

I'm finding my G3 just dies when it gets to about 38% , 42% or 47% battery and I then do something with it, like make a call, send a text or use the browser (just 3 examples).

And when it dies of have to plug it back in to charge, but as soon as I've do the battery indicator, the one that shows before the phone is booted up, tells me the battery has 38,42 or 43% charge. And so does the battery indicator after its been rebooted.

It's an AT&T D855 model and it is rooted, and I flashed the ROM, so it's the ROM right? Maybe except I tried a different ROM - same result. Perhaps it's the battery? Changed that. Could it be the phone? I got two of them and they both do it.

Anyone any ideas?

The two ROMs I used were Cloudy 9 and OA-855minus5.

Sounds to me like you need to run the ROM/battery calibration app. I had a similar issue on a rooted S2 running a custom ROM and (forgot the actual name) app fixed it up pretty good.
