I'm starting to get sick of this feature and i want it off. I have yet to find where it can be disabled. Is it possible to turn it off? How?

I've heard quite a lot about this issue, there is nothing in the settings menu for this so you need to access it through the following method:

You need to access a Hidden Menu, which can be done by dialling 3845#*855#, with 855 being the international version.
Other versions are: 851 for T-Mobile & 850 for AT&T.
Sprint users dial 5689#*990# and Verizon users ##228378

Once you are into the hidden menu, scroll right down the bottom and locate knock on / off and select off.

this should disable it for you

This is one of my favorite features of the phone. Possibly the top favorite.

I am on Sprint and this opened up a hidden menu but did not give the knock on/off option

It's weird that they hide such a basic function, I pulled the above info from Android Authority

I tested it on A T & T and the option to turn it off was there. Never knew this menu existed. Anything else of interest in there that people have come across? Something which helps battery life of anything else?

I wouldn't play around too much in there. Nothing of particularly great value that I've found. There are some thermal options though.

That was my take on it as well. Not really inclined to start changing things I don't understand. Guess it is secret mostly for a reason. Why they hide the double tap option in there I have no idea. I left it on of course. Love using that.

Second that. I keep taping other phones now to switch it on. I love this feature on the phone. The only fault I can see in this is between the wake-up knock and the knock code the lower part of the phone is always smudged.
