G3 Notification light not always working?

Hi all,
I just spent the past hour setting up Nova/customizing just about all of my icons. I'm happy with the look and feel of Nova, but I noticed that my notification light isn't working for messages.

As far as I know, only sms messages are being affected, as the light still comes on when charging/viewing the lockscreen/when Facebook messages come in.

Any ideas as to why this is happening? I'm currently using Textra as my default app; I tried switching back to LG's message app, but it didn't fix the issue.

same thing happened to me after updating to 5.0 but only happens when sound is switched to "do not disturb".

Interesting, I didn't get 5.0 yet but I was hoping that upgrading would solve the problem. Maybe not...

By the sounds of things so far, I'm not sure I'd consider 5.0 an upgrade.

ive noticed mine turns off at the 20 percent mark when the battery saver comes on and doesnt come back on until i actually mark it on. also if i dont let it get past the 20 percent mark it wont cut off or anything.

I can barely see the notification light anyway...not sure I would even notice if it stopped working!

Weird.....I don't have battery saver enabled so I'm still not sure why the light isn't working! Something in nova settings maybe?
