Hey everyone.

I'm buying soon a new phone for myself and seeing how community is great here I was hoping if anyone could help me figure out which one to take.

The carrier I'm buying from currently only has G3 ( 32GB version with 3 GB RAM), but they can get G4 in a few weeks (or maybe a month) so I'm wondering should I wait or go with G3.

Are there many major differences between the two phones ? So far I have seen that the G4 has better:

GPU
CPU (hexa-core with lower speed compared to quad-core with higher speed from G3)

IPS "Quantum Screen" - This I don't know what is the major difference, is Quantum alot better than IPS+ ?

Better camera (F and B) And other miscellaneous stuff.

If anyone has any idea on which one to take let me know.

I mostly use my phone for Gaming, Web browsing and Video Watching.

Thanks in forward.

I have both. The most noticeable differences for me are that the G4 is faster, has richer display colours, none of the screen-sharpening sometimes noticeable on the G3, better camera, and improved Power button design. However, the differences are not fantastically great. Think of the G4 as an improved G3. Both are superb phones and neither should disappoint.
I recommend joining as a member - you'll be welcome - and engaging in the G3 and G4 forums, where you'll find a host of opinions. :)

The G4 is definitely superior to the G3 but the only thing I am worry is about the classic G4 defect of the boot loop issue.

I tried my friend's G4 and the most important difference to me was the phone's temperature. G3 is getting REALLY hot while playing games or browsing while charging. This didn't seem to be a problem with the G4. Also, G4 is significantly faster. IMO, if your budget allows it, go with the G4.

Love my G3, but I'd go for a G4 in a second. Better camera, SOC, screen (the G3 screen is not as contrasty as I'd like - G4 supposedly addresses this) - the screen to size ratio is not quite as good, but the G4 is basically a G3s for lack of a better term. They improved just about everything just enough.

@maclancer: I think the boot loop issue can be solved. I just did for the G3 two days ago :) Still hoping to see people confirming my solution.

About this discussion: my brother has the G4, so I could compare it with my G3 and his is way much better. The leather back is just cool, but it's the camera that rocks. It isn't so 'simple and stupid'. And because the G4 doesn't have the SnapDragon 805, it doesn't have this heating issue. The G3 can't even set the brightness to 100% if it's above room temperature outside. The G3 is worth its money but it's the first phone with a qhd screen, but the processor and battery weren't ready for it.
