G3 user..Who gonna pre-order Iphone 6?

And Android has that... It's called 'Nexus'.
Look I love android as much as anyone but let's not act like android isn't fragmented and could use some software standardization guidelines across the board. Yea Nexus devices are great. I have a nexus 7 but I would bet nexus phones make up 5% or less of all android phones. Google and OEMs need to make sure updates get pushed out to all phones on all carriers in a timely manner. Apple excels at that for obvious reasons and it's a great reason to own devices that run on IOS. If you own an IPhone 5 you are running 8.0.2 right now. You think any 3 year old androids will get android L. I bet most new android phones won't even get L in a timely manner..

Apple excels at that for obvious reasons

Of course, they control everything... Where Google has that level of control, they have the same timely updates.

Google could rule with an iron fist, but they didn't get Android to a ~85% global market share by being a tyrant.

Of course Apple IOS is polished; It's basically the the same darn thing year in and year out. Like I've said before, Apple can **** in a cup, slap a logo on it, call it an iCrap and sell ten million units in two weeks. Wait, that's Brilliant!

Android has been adopted on many different platforms, therefore, residing in a great many different devices. Some of you people carry on as if Apple products are perfect; well, they aren't. As mentioned above they have their issues as well. Just look at the rediculous design of the 6+.Big azz phone, with big azz bezels, and thin as hell. Too thin. The wrong thin. Not to mention unbalanced in the hand. I can't wait for the reports of the awesome battery performance. ;) I hear the screen is pretty. Lastly, they rape consumers by forcing them to buy a more expensive phone/iPod/iPad to get more memory. A good product, but not perfect.

My real issue is not with their products, it's the elitist Lemmings that worship them.

Disclaimer: I don't consider every owner of an Apple product a Lemming, my family own a few. I'm speaking to the elitists.

Ok this discussion is just going in circles. I like both Operating Systems and think both have their advantages and disadvantages. If someone feels like IOS has no advantages over android I guess we can agree to disagree :)

Same can be said about Android over IOS. Actually many advantages. However, the argument about which is best is irrelevant, and can never be won or lost by either side. Personal preference wins out. I tried to talk myself into the 6+. But I just can't do it........yet.;)

Yea me either. I had an IPhone 5S earlier this year briefly. I couldn't get used to but I did enjoy certain aspects of IOS..

I had a 5 which was a huge and vast improvement over my droid razr maxx- but I missed the ability to customize my screens, widgets and overall navigation.

I am lucky that the G3 came out this year - as I feel like I will be good for 2-3 years with this phone.

The G3 is an excellent device. No you cannot customize iOS as much as Android but it really depends on how you use your device and what other devices you use it with. I think that Android and iOS really cater to different audiences. Ecosystem is another huge factor when deciding. If you own other Apple products like a Mac or iPad and most of the people you communicate with use iMessage, FaceTime, etc, then an iPhone would probably be a better option. If you own a Nexus Tab, Chromebook, the people you communicate with use Hangouts, etc, then the G3 would be a great option also. There are trade offs with both so just try them both out and you cant go wrong with either.

I've decided not to purchase the iPhone 6. Not going to go backwards. Love my ir blaster and all the customizing I could do with my phone. I ran clean master on my phone and it's been running very smooth so no more lag! I have to disagree with pp, I have a Mac and iPad but that doesn't make me want to get a iPhone. The Mac and iPad work beautifully and so does the iPhone don't get me wrong but it just feels like 10 steps back because it doesn't have all Android does. Something simple yet very helpful for example are the little icons on the top of the notification bar. I rely on that a lot! IPhone doesn't have it. I use my ir blaster a lot as well, when out to the Dr office for example and I simply want to change the channel. Just to name a couple... Now if Android L will release sooner! My phone was so much faster and smoother with ART runtime but I had to disable it because my phone would freeze up and need a battery pull once a day.

Are you talking about the quick settings toggles? If so, iOS definitely has some. I don't think they are configurable, but the basics are present.

After having MAJOR issues with my G3 dropping calls where my iPhone never did, I am SERIOUSLY looking at getting an iPhone 6+. I love the G3, but if I can't rely on a call, then it is worthless to me.

Let me make a clarification on something I said. I love my iPad, and I in fact did say that I use it much more than my Android tablets. However, it's usually web browsing, or reading Bleacher Report and playing WordFeud. Yesterday I had to transfer my wedding guest list to an Excel document from a Note Program on my iPad. I can't run dual windows on my iPad (I needed to copy each entry 1 by 1) so I had to use my Galaxy 10.1. I could open both Office, and a note document side by side to copy the list. My iPad is basically a leisure device. My Androids are for leisure, and productivity.

Having said all of that, I don't want my phone to become just a phone with a camera. Yes, that is simplifying it, but you get my point. I change my home screen layout several times a week. This includes switching between launchers and Locker Widgets. I can tinker almost to my hearts content, and I'm not even rooted. I can't imagine what life will be like with this phone and an unlocked Bootloader. I'll eventually upgrade my Fiance' phone from a 5 to a 6 ( she said she's content with her 5). But I'm going to stick with this G3. It was free, so I may still get a Note 4 on contract with VZW.

No I'm aware of that lol. I'm attaching a screen shot of the notification icons I'm talking about.

I personally am a Samsung user and I have no damn intentions on ever buying a iPhone again. But now that I got my wants and needs out of the way I'm going to do what I shouldn't do here and say some people don't want to run an android and they just want something that works. If I were to suggest a phone for my mother who is 54 years old and as far as she will use the phone will be to check Facebook then why would I tell her to buy a galaxy when she won't even use nor understand the features. Also love or hate apple their ios is smooth as butter and no android on the market can compete. So as far as myself is concerned I'll be Samsung forever. Other people in see why they choose their iphones

My mom went with the note because said the iPhones screen was too small. Now she loves her note 3. She's 51. Apple lost too many customers because of the small screen. I wonder how many will leave Android that once left Apple because of the small screen and now going back? Not sure I want to go backwards that's how it feels to me.

If I had to pick between ios and android I would pick android but if I had to pick between android and windows then I would pick windows. I spend about 80% of my phone time on my Nokia 1520

Well I got my iphone 6 plus. What a crappy experience that was. First the phone would stay connected to wifi. Then it wouldnt stay connected to my Ford sync bluetooth. Then the os was just boring. Nothing even as close to being as robust as the G3. I enjoy trying new devices as they come out. The iphone was nothing special to me. I can see why so many people enjoy them but compared to the G3 it doesnt hold a candle. I have a Note 4 on order and we will see how that goes as I did enjoy the Note 3.

LG really made a special device with the G3. Even though I may switch to the Note 4 after I receive it I very much look forward to seeing how LG improves over the G3 as it is as close to perfect for me as I can get so far.

Phones and operating systems are not all alike; there is something for everyone and whether we like it or not the majority of the world uses an iPhone.
I travel frequently for my business and every time I am on a plane, just about everyone around me is using an iPhone. I rarely see anything other than iPhones and when I do I am surprised (and take note). On my last 2 trips I saw a Sammy S4 on one flight and a M8 on the other....that's it.
The gal next to me on my last flight asked me what phone I had, she had never heard of it (not surprising). Most people are not like us, they want simple and what everyone else is using. They do not care about RAM, IPS or Amoled, chipsets, GPU or CPU....etc. They want to turn it on, have it work, check Facebook, text, listen to music and take selfies. We are the huge minority, period.
