G4 on Marshmallow - cropping with Capture+

Just updated to Marshmallow and noticed that Quick Memo has been replaced by Capture+. Mostly it works the same but they replaced the straight edged screen crop with a finger drawn crop line only. Any way to do a straight edge? I used to love that for quick screen grabs of screen sections. Invoke Quick Memo - crop the picture - and save! (I know I could always do a full screenshot and then use Photos to crop and then save and delete the old pic but the Quick Memo method is faster and easier)

I noticed that too! I'm very disappointed with that change! Why did they think that was a better idea?!

No clue. I've tried various combinations of long press and menu hoping to find a toggle that lets us switch between hard box crop and hand drawn but no luck. I sent a Twitter query to LGUS but no reply.

What carrier are you with?
My ATT G4 on MM still has QuickMemo.

ATT also. QuickMemo still exists as an app but if you want to take a screenshot and then doodle on it, you might see that QuickMemo+ in the pull-down button list has been replaced by Capture+. That's fine - it mostly works the same way for doodling but cropping by box has been replaced by cropping with a finger drawn shape, which is not as convenient. As I said above, you can still take a screenshot and then crop in Photos but that's a bit more work. Just don't know why they changed something that was already working pretty well.

This totally sucks. Why would they do that? Now I have to use a different app to crop my screen shots. That is the only reason I ever used QuickMemo+.

Agreed. Would have been so much better if they had the finger drawn cropping in addition to the box crop instead of replacing it.
