I signed up earlier this morning and have already heard back from LG that my registration has been processed and approved

I'm Canadian but I purchased an unlocked US model online. Would mine be covered under this warranty?

That's a good point, but I wonder how many of the "regular" phone buyers (non-AC readers) actually even know about this and will sign up. Will LG reach out to them personally? I haven't received anything.Aside from the 15% of us 1% that discuss our phones online, I am pretty positive that the general population keeps their phones for two years or longer.

Maybe so they can gather data and also only offer the feature to original owners perhaps?Dumb question: If they really cared about their customers and wanted to stand behind their product, why not just implement the 2 year warranty for everyone and not force you to have to register? That way they could just advertise the 2 year warranty and not have to setup a system to record who had registered and who hasn't?
That was my whole issue too. Because of the way they implemented this, there will be many many more people that don't register who are eligible than there are that do register. Just seems a shame for the few non tech nerds that never knew and the thing bootloops happens 15 months in and they are out of luck.Dumb question: If they really cared about their customers and wanted to stand behind their product, why not just implement the 2 year warranty for everyone and not force you to have to register?
