Hey guys, im currently with the 7.0 and April security update. Friends with S8 are just already in the latest android version. Why our device is taking so long to update?

Well, im from Brazil, my phone is not linked to any carrier. They sell them here as "unblocked". So I dont know when im going to get an update.

unlocked phones, try with LG bridge software to see if there is an update?
I'm on July update for the IND 870DS and i know Hong Kong or TW 870DS already got their August update with face unlock etc.

well, im not happy to need a software to check for update, but I will do it later. I will tell you guys what happened.

I'm unlocked on T-Mobile and have the July security patch. I suspect LG and the carriers will go directly to 8.0 and skip over 7.1.

you shouldn't need to, Mine was Over the air... but i meant just in case if you are in a hurry. If you manually updated before especially to another region software i heard it breaks over the air updates for the future just FYI

I hope so. I mean, Im just interested in the performance improvements, im not into the visual modifications, just wish my batery last a bit longer.

Im not saying download your software right now but you can check if your country had an update in this LG Software Site This is where the firmware of all the Single Sim 870 exist so far and the model of 870DS is here

for example mine is the Indian software so in settings -> About Phone -> Common Tab -> Software info -> Software Version -> V10k-IND-XX which is what it says on the website for India -> "H870DS10k_00_OPEN_ESA_DS_OP_0724.kdz" updated on August 07, 2017. where 870DS v10k translates to h870ds10k

Tgis is why I generally stay away from samsung and LG. They are the worst at updates, HTC does a better job of getting updates out. What does that tell you about the biggest cellphone manufactures. This was my only and definitely last lg phone I will ever own.

I didnt know about that. Im from Brazil so no Htc, One Plus, Pixel, Honor, Lg or Huawei down here. We just have Samsumg, Motorola, Sony and Apple. Most people have Samsumg or Apple, so I decided to grab an international G6 instead of those. Buying from overseas here its pretty expensive and the government charges a lot of taxes. Im pretty happy with my device, but those Motorola bugets phones have more updates than mine. I guess ill just have to acept it as it is.

If I download a new firmware from this it wil come with no carries app ok? and do I lose the warranty?

thanks for the info! it looks like tmo just got a new version on 9/1/17. too bad i cant put it on my phone yet.
