This thing looks like it'll fall apart of you look at it wrong. But it apparently passed 810G military standards and is IP68. What do you think?

Get a case if you value it. It will scratch and it will break. It's got glass on both sides and it will break sooner of later if dropped at the right angle/level.

I don't really do cases. I have insurance for cracked screens. Just wanted to get people's opinions of the durability

Anything is vulnerable. Base on luck.

Take last year. I dropped my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge from shoulder height with no case nor screen protector. It fell display first and NOT A SINGLE DENT OR SCRATCH.

A few months later I had the OnePlus 3, dropped it while sitting fell out of my shorts. Corner was damaged heavily. :(

I rarely drop them before but it was a messed up year that I started using cases again.

One of the reasons why I purchased this phone is the durability. I work outside for my job and a durable phone is important to me. I threw on a unicorn beetle case with a tempered glass screen protector and I'm set.

I out a snap on plastic case on my phone. Hate cases but wanted it for the kickstand. Already removed. Taking it off shouldn't stress the phone's frame too much right? It's pretty sturdy

There is a video of a reviewer washing it in a washing machine by itself and it's really banging around in there. You can watch it. He takes it out and it works fine and is not dented and no screen damage. Now I wouldn't recommend washing it but I think it's pretty tough.

So I came from an iPhone 7 plus with 3D touch. A few times I've put pressure on the screen forgetting that I dont have that feature anymore. Based on the above post I take it that isn't a concern either. Thanks.

Any chance you could provide a link to the video you mentioned? I searched but all I can find is videos for actual LG washers lol

I'm sure it's durable apart from the drop risk (which will also destroy the ingress protection). That's always a lottery: you could drop it a dozen times and get away with it but a single drop where it landed slightly differently could crack or shatter it. That's true with any phone.

That's also why I don't take "drop test videos" seriously. They are just anecdotes.

Like any phone, it's an investment and also something to protect due to that... I'd just slap a case and a screen protector on it and I'd be good to go! :) I never test the durability of my phones lool, but I have this unfortunate habit of knocking them into walls when I'm walking around... So I'd be sure to protect the G6 from my clumsiness if I were to get it! Haha.
