G7 Power Texts and Bluetooth

I'm coming from a G6 which had Moto voice capability, so my texts could be heard and read over BT.

Now that the G7 Power took away that ability, how am I supposed to know I got a text while connected to BT?

It won't audible alert over the BT or the phone, however, phone calls are working just fine.

I'm using the standard Android Messages app.

It requires the phone to be unlocked. If I'm touching the phone to do that, why even use voice?

Hmm, the unlock issue.:-\ Strange, because on my Pixel 3 XL, I can use that command and it will work without having to unlock my phone first. You have Voice Match turned on, right?

Interesting, this is from last year: https://www.androidpolice.com/2019/07/22/google-assistant-text-messages-without-unlocking-phone/. I'd imagine that this would've been resolved by now, but who knows? I do have the beta Google app installed, so you might want to try that.

Yes, voice is turned on and I'm running the mist recent version of all the apps.

Open the Play Store app, go to the Google app's page, and scroll down to the Beta section. If you have the option, select Join Beta, then wait for it to update.
