I spent an hour with Metro customer service/tech support to no avail, trying to solve the 'no text' trouble. I can create texts but when I send them it tells me "we will send your message when the service is available" then it just sits there doing nothing.
Yesterday I did a hard reset and started over thinking that would do it, it did not.

fwiw wife's phone is identical to mine, on the same service and is working fine.

This problem appears on WI-fi or the Metro connection. Tech support said that my connection was being 'provisioned' ( HUH?) and it would work in 2 hours... lo and behold it did send me 12 texts, that were delayed somehow but after that the same trouble was back, that's when I did the reset.

Thanks to all

Ah, that signal icon is the wi-fi signal, not your cell signal. The cell signal icon is a series of vertical lines that get taller as you go to the right. You don't need a SIM to connect to wi-fi.

What does the attached message mean when using "Messenger" or any SMS app?

ERROR: java.util.nosuchelement.exception:list is empty

Sorry attachment would allow me to include it.

This appears each time I use the text app to read or send a text of any size new app didnt cure problem.

Clearing dat and cache no joy.

thanks as always Samsung a01 w/all updates

Stop beating your head against the wall with this non-north american version phone and get one made for our market.. fighting this thing isn't worth the hassle, life is too short ;)
There are lots of good budget phones out there that will work great for you :)

You make a valid point, I tend to forget the location(s) it was designed to work in. Plus in our area the carrier is going to kill 4G (which we know the phone never showed when connected. I may do some ebay shopping and hopeful end up with one that works in teh USA.

The local Metro folks couldn't care less about helping with any troubles, that's why don't go there to start with,=. YOU guys are my tech support!! :D
IF METRO wasn't such a bunch of bastards Id' buy on fromm teh store....doubtful they'd want to help with any tru=troubles how ever

Re No it does'tnt!!: Galaxy A01 can't send texts but have internet

Hi B Diddy,

No it doesn't !! So I cleaned the cache and data from both then removed BOTH of the messaging programs, restarted when in Safe Mode and reinstalled the OEM app.

I never expected to see the OEM one still installed even after 'removing it,, looks like a Windows trick lol.

Any way, all is fine and I have had NO goofy error messages since the mess was sorted out thanks to you.

most appreciated. :D:D
