Android Central Question

My Galaxy Active 2 watch stopped working and I shipped it in for warranty repair. I was informed it contained water in the watch and warranty doesn't cover water damage!! The watch was used while swimming in a lap pool. How can it be advertised for swimming yet not cover water damage?

Welcome to Android Central! Unfortunately, there are strict stipulations when it comes to fitness/smartwatches and water damage. I have a Fitbit Inspire 2 that advertises it being swim-proof - but it clearly tells you that it's swim-proof up to a certain amount of water. Plus, I really do wonder about chlorine getting into the internals of the watch.

I'm sorry this happened to you! Water damage seems to be the leading cause of issues with technology these days. Most manufacturers won't cover it.

It is the same with all manufacturers. Unfortunately, the ads are misleading. Best file a complaint with a governmental consumer protection agency. If there are too many complaints they could go after them.
