I recently bought a brand new Galaxy Alpha 850M. My question is I have the data sybols "E, H, H+, and 4g" should I have a LTE symbol also? I live in a LTE rich area and have seen it on all of my other phones So it is not my area.

When I run a speed test I get a 6-7 mb down and 1.5 mb up.

Thanks for any help.

Ok, so each of those symbols is telling you which type of GSM network you are on and the associated speeds you will likely get from them.

E = Edge (Dial Up Internet)
H = HSDPA (More like 3G Speeds)
H+ = HSDPA+ (Closer to 4G or LTE Speeds, but not LTE)
4G = HSDPA+ (most likely its the same as HSDPA+ since AT&T shows up as 4G back during the 4G battles with Verizon)
LTE = Typically you will see 4G for LTE, but sometimes HSDPA+ is also showing up as 4G.

So if you have H+, 4G or LTE you are likely doing quite well for speeds.

Speeds up and down will always vary depending on cell tower capacity, range to tower, etc. Given those speeds it sounds like either a congested market or more closer to "H" Speeds.
