Galaxy Gear Delay in Synching Text Notifications with Phone

a new update came out but i still have the same issue. We still haven't got the update that works with gmail to give you more information. i'm about ready to take it back and get my money back.

Im having the same issue as you and the the other person a few post above. Tried resetting reinstalling reconfigurig the gear app and gear watch and I get very inconstant results. Very few times do notifications arrive on both as expected. Often times I will get a flood of email text and other app notifications all at once. None of it makes sense. And then you have thungs like calendar notificatiins that show consistently on both devices at the same time as expected

I did manually flash the watch with the UK mk7 rom. Ive been trying to find the stock USA rom thay shipped on my watch so I could downgrade and officaly update via the gear app. Anyone onow where I can downlod the pre mk7 rom for USA users? This is the only thing I have not tried. Both my partner and I have galaxy note 3 with galaxy gear. I upgraded his to mk7 as well with the same UK rom and he has not had any issues that Im experience.

I also uninstalled any app from my phone I dont need and turned of all factory baked in apps I do not use.

We are on verizon if that makes any difference

I found the solution to the text delay notification, at least for me. I use Pop Up Notifier for only SMS messages. It's set to wake up the screen and not time it out for 20 seconds -- which explains why my text notifications on the Gear are delayed for 20 seconds. I deactivated it and I get text notifications as promptly as other notifications.

Am I correct to say that when you are receiving notifications your phone is not on? meaning you are not actually looking up something, checking emails, playing candy crush etc. Because if so I noticed that when I am doing something with the phone and I receive a text, email or gmail it will not show on the GG until you close the phone then the notification will pop up! It kind of makes sense because why would you need the notification on the watch if you're already looking at the phone?.... just saying

For me that is the case as well.

Where i'm also having an issue is if i'm not using my phone at all. It would be in another room very near by on the charger, i get a text, email, etc it takes 20-30 minutes for it to make it to my watch. That is if it ever makes it to it. But then very few times, it works just fine under the same conditions. So it has me stumped. That is why I wanted to now if anybody could point me to a download of the original firmware for the watch thinking upgrading on my own may have caused some issue.

I have had the same issues. Sometimes they seem to come right through, other times there is a massive delay. I noticed by reconnecting and reconnecting the watch either via the app or by restarting the watch the notification will pop write up. Weird. Gonna get online with Samsung tech today and see what they say. I just won the watch through a contest at work. So I am just figuring some of it out myself.

Also to add in u never receive Gmail notifications. Never have.

I found this thread because I was noticing the same thing, although the delay hasn't been more than a few seconds. I figured out that the reason for my delay, at least, is because the screen turns on when a text comes through. I tried and tried to figure out how to turn that feature off, but I don't think you can.
