Galaxy Gear & KNOX??

Hi All,

I have enabled KNOX to allow me to use the corporate email account that I have.
All works well, so does Galaxy Gear, however it only syncs the phone, not the KNOX component.
So any corporate contacts, and appointments do not get synced.
This seems like a huge oversight in my opinion as a lot of business users will be using KNOX and GEAR.

Is there a way around this please? I only actually want to sync KNOX with the GEAR.

I'm not sure you're ever going to see support for the Gear within KNOX. In a way, it kind of defeats the purpose. KNOX is an encrypted sandbox system (like rival Good), and the point is that you DO NOT let protected info out of the box. Sending data to the Gear is letting info out of the box. It's possible they may allow you to install the Gear Manager within the KNOX container at some point, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

Yeah but the gear can be password protected. Why can't they leverage that?

I was under the impression the gear could only be protected by a 6-dot pattern. If you're going to be requiring the use of KNOX to secure corporate email chances are that's not going to provice the security you're looking for. In any event I don't think the Knox can perform the device-at-rest encryption that Knox can.

You actually have a pattern plus a pin. Technically you would have to steal the watch, enter the pattern and be within BT le distance of the smartphone. Other smart watches allow this. Pebble for example will delete the notification after you look at it.
