Yeah from file manager , you seem to be doing in right direction.

The big catch is that you want to do a COPY, not a MOVE, because if the move goes bad you may lose the pictures forever.

COPY the files to the SD card using the file manager.
Verify that they are there with the file manager.
Restart the phone.
Verify that the files are still on the SD card.
Using your picture viewing app, verify that you can see them.
Delete the original picture files from the internal storage using the file manager.
