Galaxy Nexus batteries and charging stand

I'm under the impression that the Nexus line's 2100 mah extended battery is the same one as the Galaxy S3s. As the Nexus has been out for some time, the accessories are quite a bit cheaper. You can get the battery charging kit for the Nexus for about $23, whereas for the Nexus its around $44.

Anything wrong with my line of thought? I read somewhere that Verizon Galaxy Nexus and GSM Nexus(es) did not have compatible batteries. I guess the question is which of the 2 Nexuses batteries are compatible with the S3.

its not the same i tried it. i have the battery charger and extended batteries.

the contacts are in different places for both phones.

Guess I'm not as clever as I thought. I could have sworn I read online that Nexus and the S3's batteries were interchangeable. Well thanks for the heads up and kudos for saving me some time and money.
