Galaxy Nexus - Battery level drops very suddenly, then recovers, shuts down

I've had my Galaxy Nexus for about a year and a half now, battery has been fine on it until 4.2. I've included a link to screenshots of what has been going on below

Battery will be fine, and then I'll check and it'll all of a sudden drop 40-50%, and then 5 minutes alter, be back up, but not to the point it was before. The real annoying part is that it's been shutting down my phone because of the low battery, which I've then had to do a battery pull to get it to stay on after turning it on.

I tried to let it discharge to 10% and then turned it off, and gave it a full charge yesterday night. I then left it on the whole night and have been using it today, hoping the battery wouldn't "jump", but it has.

Any ideas what could be causing this? I don't use Google now, or other highly battery consuming apps.

Wow. That's the most drastic battery plummet I've ever seen. I'm not sure any of the threads I was going to suggest you look at are relevant. What carrier are you on?

The one thing I notice is that the plummet seems to coincide with a very weak network signal ( the little red bar in the Mobile network signal line). This leads me to think it might be similar to the problem people have reported with the Galaxy S3 on AT&T: http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...e-random-heavy-battery-drain-aka-plummet.html I think the only "fix" for that has been for people to reboot every day.

You might also want to take a look at this thread: http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...android-system-eating-your-battery-check.html I don't think the problem is relevant, but the troubleshooting techniques might be useful to you. If it happens again, also post the first battery page (the one that shows what percentage different apps are using).
