Why is this happening? I've noticed my phone never gets to 100% with either of my batteries and like everyone else my battery drains in about 6 hours of normal use, although I live in a dead zone.

Could be acting like a trickle charge so it doesn't over charge the battery and hurt it.

If you really live in a dead zone, that will impact battery life as much as you using the phone. If you have a weak radio, being in a weak area makes it even worse. Just try to use it in a better reception area and see if that helps. If it does...then start digging to really diagnose the problem or get extended batteries.

Could also be a faulty phone if it never gets to 100% if I'm understanding you correctly. .

Have you tried discharging the phone to almost dead? From what I have read on here running it close to dead and then charging it to a full charge with the phone off cycles the battery and helps with battery life. I have done it a few times with both the standard and extended battery, and so far my battery life has been pretty good. It is normal for a phone to reach 100% and then stop charging while it is still plugged in, but I am not sure if this is what yours is doing. If you have poor intermittent signal that will kill the battery life since it is searching for signal. Airplane mode is good for these situations.

I second the extended battery if you live in a dead zone. I live in a low/no signal area and pay the price as well in battery life. But the extended helps mask it.

As far as your original question, If your rooted run a battery calibrator from the market.

If not wait till the phone says "Charged" then unplug for 15 seconds and plug back in. It will top off the battery and should push it to 100%. I have this problem with my batteries too. Extended and standard.

I just can't seem to get it to 100%. So I'm going to try and drain my batteries (I have 2 regular batteries, I didn't like the extended).

I'll have to try a calibrator. Never had this problem with my DX.
