Galaxy Nexus on T-Mobile?

do you really think it is really "that much" better looking if at all. Pretty similar, minus the software and bigger screen. Which I do like

But I do agree with Nerdy Werds. The Galaxy does have a few things on it, not the resolution or ICS, thats about it. But both cameras are as good or better don't u think

I guess my point being...I am very impulsive. You would agree with most, not worth time or money to switch to Verizon to get first right?

And if I sold my phone and have been using a 11 year old phone and it is killing me, and I have no problem unlocking and selling on ebay to get a phone in 6 months, then it isnt the biggest of losses to those of u that prefer the GN given those circumstances, is it?

Thanks to all weighing in. I, I suppose like a lot of us, can get neurotic about it When When When LOL

Where did you see that price. That is fantasticaly cheap. Cheapest I saw was 699 from Negri and there was a free shipping or another coupon somewhere.

Actually it's $689.50 from Negri, but with $35 off coupon code: sb35offjkh it brings it down to $654.50, but I think they got rid of the free shipping if you combine with coupon. I didn't order it though because I still believe you'll be able to get it cheaper, as the TMO/SG2 was $529 off contract, so I'm hopeing for similar priceing. Besides, in looking at the fine print in Negri's store policies it says they reserve the right to increase price when the stock arrives.
I've been sitting on the sidelines myself as well after extending my grandfathered TMO account in September and cashing out on the Blackberry Bold 9900 that I upgraded to for $50 and flipped for $550 - I'm hopeing for a wash, or close to it, on the GN.

I wouldn't at all be surprised to see it launched for $529 or $549 unlocked in the USA. Looking at Euro prices you need to factor in things like VAT etc.. Don't look into the exchange rate or import costs too much. Prices are usually about the same in the US as they are in the UK and Europe.

For me, I passed on the SG2, to wait for the Galaxy Nexus (looks/performance) from T-Mobile off contract, and if priced like the SG2 off contract hopefully would be ~ $529.00. The best price I got so far for an unlocked version GN was a pre-order price of $654.50.

That's because they're making money off people who want to pay to pre-order. Then they have to pay to send it to you overseas.

When I said "legit" I was referring to previous posts about them carrying the phone, for a certain price, and that coupon codes exist

I would certainly hope that people would check out them, and all sellers

So at this point even the likes of Jerry and Phil are starting to think early 2012 for the rest of the US carriers to get it. I say that's grade A BullS**t! T-mo was the first to have Android and first to support Nexus, T-Mo should get this before X-mas.

I'll tell you one thing either way bricks will be shat. More so if it is released on T-mo before X-mas.

EDIT: I know I'm getting excited over probably very little but... http://androidandme.com/2011/11/new...e-galaxy-nexus-announcement-coming-this-week/

IDK WTF the deal is with this. Google really let me down with the inside news of there being a Galaxy Nexus, then announcing that it was with VzW. Then they took the "EXCLUSIVE" away from VzW and now I'm completely lost. Just a few things I'd like to point out and see what you guys/girls have to say about them.

1) The GSM version of the GNex passed through the FCC more than a month before the LTE version which just passed today 11/16/2011. Why would there be a hold back of information for this long if there is no true exclusivity? This doesn't make sense. In my mind they will drop the GSM and VzW gets an exclusive LTE version and can sell in stores while everyone else has to buy from BestBuy Mobile or other stores for full priced or this is truly, completely, a cluster*ck.

2) The phone is released in UK before we even get a release date? This is really confusing. I think T-Mobile did their part last year when they just let Google take the reigns and handle the drop. They didn't confuse anyone, they didn't hold anything back, they just let the people know at BestBuy Mobile that you were due for an upgrade and BAM! You get the phone. The only problem was that AT&T, VzW & Sprint didn't get a true working model till later. Actually, VzW never got a Nexus. I understand that they deserve one, but I'd say that so does everyone. If Google really wants to show Apple how its done, they sell the phone unlocked, unbiased to all carriers world wide and they do it in fashion. With an exact release date world wide. This would eliminate people like me that are thinking of chancing buying my phone form an unknown source without insurance from overseas.

3) Nexii get first dibs on new OS, so where the is my ICS? I understand theres a new device dropping and all, and thats really nice, but my phone is just now 1 year old and still I turn heads when I use it. I want my ICS and being that I was sold on the fact that I don't have to wait for updates and the Nexus brand gets them first I'm a bit pissed off that they show off the Nexus S running ICS perfectly, yet we have no date for when we'll get it. All we get is a "Nexus S will get it first, within weeks of the GNex release date." Which would be great if there was a release date? Does that release date count in the US for the UK release date which seems to be later this month.

I'd truthfully be fine with my Nexus S running ICS ( I rooted and ran the ported version but too many things didn't work ) but all this hurry up and wait for nothing more than a teaser is really getting old FAST.

What are your thoughts?

I'm seriously thinking about buying one from overseas and, switching to T-mobile. It's kind of sad that this forum is so small, especially since T-mobile was the first carrier to have the nexus brand. Google should have released the Galaxy Nexus for all U.S. carriers. I owned the first two nexus phones on T-mobile and, it was a great experience.

ill buy one from overseas if by mid december i cant get one in the usa. Tmobile of course.

I think I'm about there. I was hoping to have this phone in my hands by December, but as it stands, I just don't think it's happening any other way except ordering an unlocked phone from overseas. I'm nervous about ordering overseas (potential warranty issues/breakage); has anybody done it before and how effective is it?

Where did you see that price. That is fantasticaly cheap. Cheapest I saw was 699 from Negri and there was a free shipping or another coupon somewhere

But more importantly, anyone have a guess as to when it will come out?
The Negri coupon code is sb35offjkh. It brings the price down to 695.00, plus they ship for free. I was tempted but I don't see the point of dropping almost 700 for phone when I have a year left on my contract. I'm going to wait until march 2012 to see if T-Mob gets it or wait for the new devices after CES.

I can't see dropping that much either.

Glad to see the price drop again. There were days when that 869+- price wasn't onsale and it was way over 695. So thanks for pointing that out

Good point. I may wait til CES or sell my SGS2 UNLOCKED on ebay and pay the rest.
Only thing. There are so many rumors bout warranty. Some don't give it. But I assume all come with manufactures warranty.

Any idea what that is?? Square trade said they do not give a warranty on this. But also (correct meally are covered. Should prolly chg their wording for their own benefit to get more sales.

OMG. My last thought wasn't finished...it is now too frustrated

Serious question: (sorry for hijacking my own thread but I.couldn't finish my own.post because of.this)

Anyone know on the SGS2 or others how to type in that box without the cursor eventually hiding. And u can't scroll because a second later the whole page scrolls. Is it because I choose quick reply. Ibdont know the difference. I don't think thats the problem. It just happened as I am typing in a plain Zreply box (Pulling out hair from my bald head )

2. As an aside u all seem like android scholars. Tp p:eek:ut it simply I am getting
Google services/happy has
Google Framework has stopped
It has something to do.withthe calendar and
when it syns I get it. I posted im XDA/GENERAL/QUESTION
If anyone can help from this or go there I'd be so so thankful. I hope I dont have to.for.a.factory.reset and add one.appt a day like tmobile said

Just so everyone knows...I picked up an unlocked Nexus on Amazon and have been using it with my $30 a month T-Mobile pre-paid sim (100 minutes talk, 5gb data and unlimited text) and it works great. HSPA is normally getting around 3-4mb downloads and 2mb uploads, so it's not the fastest thing in my area but I'm not really in a dense setting just outside of LA. It's significantly faster than my LTE Galaxy Nexus on 3G (all I can get here) which I'm considering dumping now that I've tested the unlocked GSM version.
