The Clock is Via Beautiful Widgets.

Thanks again guys. I hope to make a few more videos this week. Keep the tips coming !

Does anyone have trouble with dust getting stuck around the edge of the screen where the lip of the case is? I find that to be the biggest issue with the case.

Mine gets some dust on the edges but I just take the phone out of the case every now and then and wipe it off. Not a big deal since this is like a once a week ordeal.

Maybe my clothes are exceptionally dusty. Because whenever I take the phone out of my pocket it is covered in dust and I have to use canned air. I can get most of it off just by blowing on it but it still looks bad. And honestly part of the reason I love this phone is the aesthetics

No for GPS. This has been covered in the forums and on the podcast. Not sure about NFC. Not sure about Wifi either. NFC and Wifi may use battery if they are constantly looking for something to connect to. The GPS radio just patiently sits there waiting to be invoked.

Wifi in idle mode definitely uses battery, because it is indeed looking every few moments for something to connect to if it is not already connected to a network. But even if it is already connected to a network, leaving the wifi radio on means that whatever background/auto-sync data there is to receive/send, will be done over wifi. That will drain the battery.

Not sure about NFC.

Can anyone tell me how to get a music cd onto my GN? I tried importing songs into the music folder of the GN today, however I cannot find the songs on my phone even though they are in the folder. They are all .WMA files and I am trying to use google music to listen to them.

Thanks

WMA files are not compatible with the Nexus, at least not the standard player...

Upload into Windows Media Player on your PC, then use the Google Music manager program to upload to Google Music. It should sync with your phone automatically.

I've had my Galaxy Nexus for about 3 weeks now. Just found your website today from Android Central. I'm also from Queens (Astoria) but have lived in southern VA since 1981 (retired Coast Guard Communications Officer). I bought a Nexus for my sister in PA and she loves it. I'm going to send a link to your Nexus tips to her. If you find a way to separate the Ringer Volume from the Notification Volume I will be VERY HAPPY. This is one of the few things I don't like about 4.0 ICS. Thanks for the tips //DanS//

When you use voice actions to send a text (press the mic at the top right of the screen in the search box and say "send text to [name of contact], [message body]), you can now set apps other than the Messaging app as the default. I use Google Voice exclusively, so this is great for me. I don't remember being able to do that in gingerbread.

So far I have tried a few different homescreen launchers, but none are as good as the stock one.

Biggest thing is the folders - you need to create them for other launchers and then it takes 2 clicks to back out. Only 1 with the stock.

Thanks for posting how to enable Volume+. I had it loaded but not on.

NOVA...easily the best

2. Is there any way to get miss call notification led light (without getting any app)? I get led light notification for voicemail, but not for missed call.

Nope, need an app..the app that does it works very well and is very customizable...its like $2 too...don't be cheap

Is there a way to force a bookmark to always display desktop mode?

Dunno if it'll stick but go to a site, then in the browser type

about:debug

Then click on the dots then settings and scroll to the last option entitled debug, then user agent, then choose desktop.

I use an app called widget locker to customize my lockscreen. At the moment all I have is the stock slider that turns on the LED flash when pulled up, but in the past I have put shortcuts and widgets on there too. Very useful and productive in my opinion, but only really if you normally use the slider lockscreen

is there a way to set up a button or widget to toggle between CDMA and LTE without the 5 clicks going into settings? this would be huge from me.
