Galaxy Note 10.1: How to exit Factory Mode into UserMode

Re: How to exit Factory Mode into UserMode

I'm rooted, running adb as SU, and getting "Read-Only file system"

Re: How to exit Factory Mode into UserMode

Absolutely did the trick. One thing that should be emphasized though is to use SU you have to have root...elementary but the ROM I was using didn't have it and I got access denied when typing the commands

Re: How to exit Factory Mode into UserMode

@inflock, thanks. Your solution helped me get rid of Factory mode. However I think this mode reset my IMEI :(

To anyone who can help,
I was on Stock rooted 4.4.2 (international Note 2) when this Factory Mode thing happened. I have absolutely no clue why this happened in the first place!

I believe because of this my IMEI was reset to 004999010640000/01. I tried flashing a new ROM via TWRP. It did not help. I tried a few modems for this ROM (Dr. Ketan ND3 for Android 4.4.2). This also did not work.

I tried looking up this IMEI issue in XDA. Nothing conclusive there or on Google search either. I am hoping folks can suggest alternates. Will re-flashing an older ROM (via ODIN) resolve my issues? Please let me know other alternates.

Re: How to exit Factory Mode into UserMode

the command efs/FactoryApp/keystr is about to removing .. no directory found mean you already did. so nothing to worry just complete the whole commands . it works like charm .

Re: How to exit Factory Mode into UserMode

Here is the exact solution for this problem which i have recently had!

You have to root your phone and install Terminal Emulator from Google Play.

Open terminal emulator and type as ;

su
rm /efs/FactoryApp/keystr
rm /efs/FactoryApp/factorymode
echo -n ON >> /efs/FactoryApp/keystr
echo -n ON >> /efs/FactoryApp/factorymode
chown 1000.1000 /efs/FactoryApp/keystr
chown 1000.1000 /efs/FactoryApp/factorymode
chmod 0744 /efs/FactoryApp/keystr
chmod 0744 /efs/FactoryApp/factorymode
reboot

You now should not see the that message anymore. Its because of an EFS corruption. ( Thanks to yesilcin*com) for exact solution.
Hope it helps!!!

Thank you mate .
its work like charm ..amazing effort .

I tried using the method you suggested but it failed. I'm sorry I am not familiar with coding but I did carefully followed everything you said. when I entered reboot it was denied. What should I do? help please :(

chown 1000.1000 /efs/FactoryApp/keystr
chown 1000.1000 /efs/FactoryApp/factorymode
chmod 0744 /efs/FactoryApp/keystr
chmod 0744 /efs/FactoryApp/factorymode

these commands didn't work for me please help:'(
