I have ordered the INternational version of the Galaxy Note II, (from the eBay DailySteals for $579) and have ordered the AT&T Sim and $45 package from Straight Talk. Just wondering if anyone is using this combination and what their experience has been, battery, performance etc.... Any hints on configuration? I will be running this combination in So. Cal.

Thanks in advance!
Tom

I am using it, works perfect.

Use the straight talk AT&T setup booklet for the APN settings but skip the proxy to speed it up a little.

Remember, stay off tethering (the international phone skips the AT&T carrier check and will allow it) and try not to stream video and audio and straight talk will likely never give you any trouble. Those things are in the TOS as not allowed.

Skip porting a number, just use google voice instead.

Is that the only setting you have? Because I found one on XDA, where I had to set up two StraightTalk APNs. Is your data and MMS working with just that one?

Yes that one works. Why would you need two? Both data and MMS setting are in that one APN.

Fairly sure you couldn't even use more than one APN at a time with that selection radio button anyway.

I forget the explanation, but it was the first APN setting I found that worked so I went with it. But this one you posted is working, so thanks!

There are a bunch of people trying to trick the system and get around straight talk data limit or just get faster speeds but on Howard forums they note that most of it is crap and doesn't work. Skipping the proxy seems to be the only thing that makes a difference.

So just live in the TOS for straight talk no streaming anything or tethering and you will almoat always be fine.

It's a great deal at $45 a month.

I have bought mine from Newegg and initiated the port on Saturday morning. It still hasn't gone through though. I'm assuming that they just don't do ports on the weekends.

I'm porting from T-Mobile's $70 5gb Prepaid plan. I just wasnt using the 5gb. Hope that at some point we get the AT&T 3.5G bands in Salt Lake for T-Mobile.

I wonder what the difference is, I have used those settings on my past two android phones and two iphones. They match what the straight talk card I was sent with the SIM says.

Does the card for your SIM have different settings? That's what you should really be paying at tension to.

My MMS is working fine with the attached settings on Straight Talk.

I have a samsung galaxy note 2 , unlocked , using straight talk , I have used straight talk on my samsung galaxy s 2 and it worked just fine ( had 3G On it ) and now on my new samsung note 2 i only get Edge
I have tried the mobile network setting that you guys have put online, but I only get E network, please tell me what do I need to change .

I have this order : APN: att.mvno - APN TYPE : not set , PROXY : not set ,PORT : not set, SERVER:not set , MMSC:http:/mmsc.cingular.com ,
MMSproxy : Proxy.mvno.tracfone.com , MMS port: 80 ,

WHAT DO I NEED TO CHANGE /??/????? I need more then E on my phone PLEASE HELP

I have no problem getting the phone to say 3G, H or H+ as I move around to those areas.

What exactly is the model number of the phone?

Two people listed screen shots, try those.

Last maybe try doing a wipe/erase all settings and content and starting over with the APN changes first.

I just ported my GN2 GT-N7100 from AT&T to ST, phone works but data no. Weird because my data worked for about 2 hours then quite. I had this order : APN: att.mvno - APN TYPE : not set , PROXY : not set ,PORT : not set, SERVER:not set , MMSC:http:/mmsc.cingular.com , MMSproxy : mms2.tracfone.com , MMS port: 80, and my data worked, but now it does not. I have tried all the other listed configs and no luck. One main difference that I see in my APN settings is APN type. I have to toggle between "Internet + MMS", "Internet", and "MMS". Does anyone else have this? Which one do you pick? Thank you all in advance.

FINALLY, Success!!
Here's what worked:

I should clarify... I was looking for ANY working settings that would make sending pics via MMS work for a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, unlocked International model GT-N7100, on Straight Talk's AT&T network. I finally found them! Here are the settings that worked for me for sending MMS pictures, when all others failed. I believe these are the same settings posted as a screen shot by ayg. Thanks ayg!

Name: Straight Talk
APN: att.mvno
Proxy: Not set
Port: Not set
User name: Not set
Password: Not set
Server: Not set
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: proxy.mvno.tracfone.com
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: Not set
APN type: default, supl, mms <== NO SPACES between values
APN Protocol: IPv4
Enable/Disable APN: (checked/APN enabled)
Bearer: Unspecified

Notes:
These are for the International version, model GT-N7100, unlocked. It seems to matter a lot which device you have as to which settings work.
I've tried ALL manner of everyone else's APN settings that the SWEAR work great for them on their phone. NONE worked for me until these.
Anything that involved changing MNC from the default of 410 caused weird behavior where the APN would not be saved.
I wound up deleting all other APNs due to weird behavior of the phone in saving/not saving the APN values I painstakingly entered. Part of it was the problem I mentioned where changing the MNC value would cause the APN-in-progress to simply disappear from the phone when you chose to save it.

Now I'm finally able to text pics to my young adult children who live in different cities!

Hi. I recently joined StraightTalk. I joined with my new Android Note (4.2.1). It is an international ?unlocked? version. The sim card is an AT&T sim card that I purchased from Wal-Mart before they removed them from their stores. Straight Talk Customer serv. walked me through the steps for activation. Everything works EXCEPT the ability to send or receive pictures. Texting works fine but, again, I can?t send nor receive pics. Web works fine. I have tried all that you guys have said/posted but none of them seem to work. ST customer serv. said that they have done all that they can do. Please someone HELP!!! Here are the setting they gave me.
