If you use a 3rd party launcher they let you do backups of your setup. I also usually just add an extra screen to use for creating a new look so I don't have to worry about messing my stuff up that I need/use on a daily basis.

I can't believe how much time this takes. I went through several changes with Fonts, Color and Style.

Running Nova Prime, HD Widgets and Simple Text.
