Greetings all,

I am thinking of upgrading and replacing my GS3 with an unlocked Galaxy Note 3 from a third party dealer. I am in Southern California and a T-Mobile customer. Apparently there are two versions, the N900 and the LTE N9005. I am not sure which one I should purchase. My intention in getting an unlocked phone is so that in the future I can switch carriers easily if I choose. This is not something I expect to do any time soon, but it would be nice to have the option. Obviously, I also want the best performance. Any info would be appreciated.

Thank You,

I just did a little reading and I may not be 100% right here but the n9005 can record in 4k. Problem with that is, who has a device that plays 4k? Sound on the n900 is better aparantly too. Also, the n9005 processor may be a little quicker.

In my opinion, if they're the same price, so with the n9005. If the n9005 costs more, get the n900. It's still an amazing device and you won't notice much in the processor differences. Unless of course you have a tv that's 4k, then maybe go with the n9005.

Edit:I didn't watch the whole thing, buy maybe this will help. Galaxy Note 3 Snapdragon 800 Quad vs Exynos Octa (N9005 vs N900) Comparison - Benchmarks, 4K & More - YouTube

The 4K video still looks better on a 1660P+ display. So on something like a PC or laptop it would still be sharper. What matters is the radios the phone has. Whichever one supports LTE would probably be better

That's where I was a little confused. They said the n9005 supports lte and the n900 supports 4g. Is that really different?

Yes. LTE is considerably faster than 4G (Data speeds)

There are multiple 900 Note 3 with gsm capabilites

900t is tmobile
900v is Verizon
900a is att

I know that the 900v is factory sim unlocked, I heard that the other 2 Note 3 are sim locked out of the box.

There are ways to unlock the sim of course, if that is something that you want to do.
